The Anglican News Index (1961-1970)

The Anglican News (星马教声)was launched in 1961 as a monthly news magazine of the Chinese Board of the Diocese of Singapore and Malaya (圣公会星马教区华文工作委员会). Until the separation of the Diocese into the Diocese of Singapore and the Diocese of West Malaysia in 1970,The Anglican News was published in Singapore, in traditional Chinese script, with Rev. Canon Lau Teik On as editor. The Anglican News is an important source in understanding Chinese-speaking Anglican work in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore in the early years of the nation building in Singapore and Malaysia. Those years also corresponded to the Cultural Revolution in China. Articles written under the pen-name of Changqing (常青) and Le'ru (乐如) were contributions from China.
